To start a fire with a Kodiak fire starter simply scrape off a small amount of manesium, prepare your tinder and strike the the knife to the flint to ignite the magnesium. Magnesium burns at over 5000 degrees farenheit. Magnesium will burn when wet or under the most inclement of conditions.
